Thankful for little girls......

Last night Michaela and i had a girls night out... we put dad to bed (he had some major pain meds after a bunch of root canals) and the boys were gone. We shopped for Christmas lights and some presents and made her budget for Santa's workshop at school. She filled it  out for  mom and dad and her siblings and special friends and worked out how many chores she would need to get to her goal.
. I asked what she wanted to get for Jenny. She told me 'anything with i love you on it'.  It was interesting to watch her work through what to do about her sister and how to get her present to her.
Later as we were shopping (store 89 or 100 i lost track) she told me that she was the only beehive with no big sister to help her at activitites. In my mind i cringed and got ready for the usual conversation, but instead she told me how all the laurels helped her at the last activitiy, one had  given her an extra sweater, another some socks, one told her that she would freeze for her to keep her warm, they all wanted her to know that they would take care of her. It meant so much to her that they all cared about her, i doubt any of them know how much she misses her sister or even that she has an older sister but how glad i am for their thoughtfulness.
Yesterday at the hopsickle a cute little old  lady who comes in often, was all dressed up for christmas with adorable jingle bell earings, i told her how pretty she looked !

After her test was done she came in and  gave me her ear rings , right out of her ears lol (despite my protests). When her daughter was done with the paperwork I asked her  what to do, she said simply that her mother appreciated the care and love i showed her and it made her happy to think that i had them.  You just dont know  how much you touch somones life for good or bad each day, and what a difference being kind can make to someone

. It reminded me of the saying i have on my desk, 'BE KIND FOR EVERYONE YOU MEET IS FIGHTING A HARD BATTLE"
