Last nights seminary graduation was just what i needed to kick that negative mood. The speakers and the music provided a much needed spiritual lift. I was so proud of all of the ym and yw who graduated. I thought of the kids that had graduated a couple of yrs ago, some of whom spoke and i realised that even the ones that had struggled and made wrong choices were now changing their lives. Trevor has his mission call and Jeremy is waiting for his, Eronn is loving his mission and is passionate about the Lords work. Im pretty sure Satan works the hardest on the kids that he knows have the most potential. In the end none of it matters as long as they find their own way back to the iron rod. These are the kids that will be the bishops and stake presidents of tomorrow and what a comfort it is to know that no matter their past mistakes the Lord knows the true intentions of their hearts and allows them to find their own way back.
Ryan grew up in the church and was always obedient, much like Adam. He stayed on the right path and followed what he knew was right. I joined the church at 15 and although i ended up losing my family, my faith never wavered. I had opposition but my faith and determination made it easy to get where i wanted to be.My friends thought id joined a church with 'too many rules and restrictions' i saw them as guardrails to keep me safe. We never had to face the trials that these kids have had to face and for that im grateful. Following the Lords path is so much easier that having to fight Satan to return, but in the end we will all get to the same place.
