You want me to do WHAT with that crawdad!!!!!???!!!!

One day i shall write a book, no one has my kind of quirky life lol. This week i became a grandma... Tinkerbelle had her babies~ On friday morning right as we finished breakfast we heard Claire scream "EWWWWWWWWWw Mom!!!! Something is hanging out of her bum!!" ( so much for the miracle of life moment i was planning ) So its 7am and i have to be at work by 9,and i have never witnessed an animal birth so i had no idea what i was doing.

Its ok, neither did Tink. The older kids left for school , claire was threatening to throw up cos it was GROSS, Josh looked a little green and so i called Lavonna, who knows everything about everything. Thankfully our backyards connect and in no time "we" helped Tink. Sadly the first two kitties were stillborn (so perfect and cute though) by the time that #3 came Tink were exhausted and she actually didnt even notice #4 come out. Apparantly my boss didnt think kitty loss qualified me for funeral leave so i had to go to work and left poor Ryan and Adam to conduct the appropriate burial ceremony.

Unfortunately everyone choose that day to visit the hospital with all sorts of wierd things (was it a full moon?) and  i didnt get to check on the babies til after lunch. Mom and her two babies were doing great and they are adorable.
So, you would think two dead kitties and being late to work would qualify as the worst part of the day? nah... it got worse :) I had some very interesting admits, ended up working til past 8pm when a teary 12 yr old called to tell me that the puppy had EATEN HER VIOLIN!!!!!!!! I assured her it would be ok (while wondering if we had a glue factory in st george) and headed home.
We were supposed to go to Veyo, camping but with all that had happened i was thinking the kids would just be thrilled to have baby kitties *sigh* Nope. The boys were being .... well.. boys and didnt care but Claire and Allie most certainly did. So... i took the girls camping.. it sounded like a good idea.....leave all those icky boys at home....mmmmmmmm Well... no one knew how to put the tent up (we took the small 4 person one) 17 attempts later it was kinda up but i wondered how big the 4 people were that it was made for! The girls played in the stream and we camped further into the canyon that id ever been before (as in no bathrooms within a 20 mile radius). I got the rare opportunity to write in my journal while allie caught crawdads with chocolate(hey, we didnt have anything else, it was a girls weekend lol). Usually the kids catch them, put them in water, watch them fight, i smile happily while praying they dont get loose and at the end of the day we put them back. While i enjoyed the incredible scenery and the picture perfect day, more and more crawdads were succumbing to chocolate  and ending up in a pot on our picnic table. What came next should qualify me for mother of the yr. Allie decided she wanted to FRY the crawdads for dinner!! AGHHHHHHHH GROSS disgusting idea but out of my mouth shot these words  " oh sure honey, leave it in water til later" As soon as it came out i started informing God that i needed an earthquake between now and 'later'.At this point i realised Claire was missing .. mostly cos i know she would have freaked at the idea .Where was she? At the pool of course! Veyo has a pool that is fed by a natural spring and is a perfect 90*. The kids swam for a long time and i got to enjoy reading a book. Finally as the pool was closing i realised God wasnt sending an earthquake and we headed back to the campsite to cook dinner 'gag' I was a little irritated.. i mean.. i ask for one small miracle and nothing!!! *sigh*

As we got to the one spot that recieves cell service i lost all dignity and called Ryan and the boys ;) An hour later they arrived with food (the kind without pinchers) and Allie put the slimy things back in the stream.(still no sign of that earthquake).
Sunday morning we had to hurry and get home in time for church since it was Tim's homecoming talk and Adam also spoke. Our family sits at the front.. right in front of the podium (a long established tradition in order to retrieve wild toddlers) As i sat listening to both of them talk, one barely home a week and the other getting ready to serve i was so proud of them both but so sad to think of our family with no Adam for two yrs. I sniffled and sobbed the entire time and could not get a grip ( i hate crying in public) When we got home i had thought of a solution and announced that we were becoming Jewish..... it was all going great til the C word came up :)
So that was my weekend...the two remaining kittens, one white (snowball) and the other black and white (cow) are doing great and tink loves being a mom... i know just how she feels :)
