Mid life crisis time
Im having a mid life crisis.im not sure but i think i might be getting old....this week at lunch our conversation centered around which of us had/needed bi-focals,who's sciatica was acting up and what medications we had tried.I looked to the next table and noticed (with some bitterness)the 20 somethings chatting about their newly purchased body parts and their glowing tans. Then, when i was trying very hard to be hip and cool (pass the geritol),the waitress came and it was one of Jennys friends, shortly followed by two other teenyboppers that knew me as either Sister Jentzsch or Jennys mom--both terms indicating advanced age.Kids that hung out with Jenny are RETURNING home from missions(can 2 yrs really go that fast?!?)Other kids are getting married! Some of my friends are grandmas---how did this happen? wasnt it yesterday i was the mother of 5 kids all under 8?
So,i think im having a mid life crisis.I dyed my hair back to blonde highlights(ok so what if it was mostly to cover the grey haha). Then i did something outrageous.I bought high heel shoes. Yes,theyre very cool and who knows,i might even remember how to walk in them! Thankfully my kids dont read this ,but once upon a time i was cool.. i was .. i think.......
To top it off i decided dh and i should work out-ya know, get in shape.Id like that shape not to be round.
So we set off on our walk,by the top of the street we needed oxygen,by the time we got home we needed advil
Somtimes life is so fast and crazy that when Sunday comes i need a re charge.Going to church with lots of kids is like hurding cats-frustrating.This morning two kids fought over who stole the other ones shoes, who got the 'coolest' tie and another one was upset over not finding the right accesories to her outfit.Dh skillfully avoids all this by getting in the shower at just the right time and hiding in there til its all over or im banging down the door. :)
At the end of church im usually glad i made it and feel ready to tackle yet another week of kids, annoying neighbors, bills, housework, dieting(ha!) and all the other stresses of normal life.
So i made it to church, promptly fell asleep TWICE (it would have been more but the kid in front kept screaming lol). There is something seriously wrong-I REFUSE TO BE OLD!!!!

You are not old. You are 12 years younger than I am, and NO, you don't get an extra five years of pretend age for each extra child you have, as you used to claim, so if I'm not old, and I'm NOT, you CAN'T be old. So there. :::pttbhhbbtthhbhhbt::: (Or however you spell it, lol)
Love you,
Me
